Our Partnership with Southside Pregnancy Center

Early in 2023, Chicago Christian Counseling Center began a partnership with Southside Pregnancy Center in Evergreen Park, IL. One of our clinical interns, Betsy Scott, MA, provided clinical therapy services for SPC's staff. The medical staff and interns at SPC are regular witnesses to ultrasounds that show images of precious unborn lives – lives that hang in the balance. These ultrasound images are shown to women and teen girls who are considering aborting their babies. SPC offers hope and resources to these women and teens, encouraging them to keep their babies, but not all of these moms choose life.

SPC staff members are regularly exposed to secondary trauma, through the grief of learning a mother has chosen abortion to hearing stories of women's trauma and facing hearts that have been hardened toward life. Betsy's internship with us ended August 2023, and Chicago Christian Counseling Center is honored to have partnered with and served the Southside Pregnancy Center staff.
